Updates on State Treasurer Joe Meyer

On November 3, 2009, Treasurer Meyer announced that medical tests found a cancerous tumor on his left lung. Treasurer Meyer’s family has requested that all future updates about his condition be communicated by Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. 	December 11, 2009
	State Treasurer Joe Meyer is making tremendous progress since his recent lung cancer diagnosis and surgery. With the advice and encouragement from his physicians, he will begin radiation and chemotherapy treatments the week of December 14th. The treatments are a precautionary measure being taken as a safeguard to assure that all cancer cells will be destroyed. Treasurer Meyer is in communication with his staff by phone, email and is also attending various meetings and other office-related events, which he will continue to do throughout the treatments. Both Treasurer Meyer and his wife Mary appreciate the excellent medical care Joe has received in Cheyenne, and all the cards, letters, flowers, food and well wishes they have received throughout this entire ordeal. Joe is especially looking forward to being back to work full-time in the very near future.
